The Commons is an indoor community and event space in Columbus, Indiana.  It features modern event spaces and stage area, an indoor playground, public art, including the one-of-a-kind Chaos I sculpture by Jean Tinguley, and several casual dining options.

Designed by the Boston-based firm, Koetter Kim, and referencing the former design by Cesar Pelli, The Commons is not only a community center, but also a community resource. Upstairs is a venue for live performances, lectures, gala events, and exhibitions. A five thousand square foot indoor playground with a 35-foot tall “Luckey Climber” is a family favorite. The Jean Tinguely kinetic sculpture, Chaos I, is the quirky centerpiece to the space and was preserved from the original Commons space during construction of the present facility.

The Commons is owned by the City of Columbus and managed by the Commons Board and Columbus Parks and Recreation Department staff.
